The Inflatable SAR Vest is a compact, lightweight, over-the-head, rescue swimmer inflatable flotation device.  It provides flotation characteristics normally found in large, bulky Type I flotation devices only.  The Inflatable SAR Vest is self-righting, and produces a positive righting moment (face-up) with 35 lbs. of buoyancy.  The vest is normally inflated manually with CO2, or can be orally inflated with air through its oral tube.

The Inflatable SAR Vest is built from heavy duty 420 denier nylon for continuous wear, and contains a replaceable bladder.  This vest incorporates all currently approved changes to the US Navy LPU-28A/P Rescue Swimmer Vest including the PRC-125 Modification.  Includes 33 gram CO2 cylinder (#484).  May be used with optional 29 gram CO2 cylinder (#472).  Approved by the US Navy for all Navy Rescue Swimmers.  NSN 4240-01-463-0197.
