Designed to meet the needs of the US Coast Guard Surface Rescue Swimmer. Combines the best features of a swimmer harness and those of an inflatable life preserver into one compact unit. Harness is constructed of Type 8 and Type 13 MIL-SPEC webbing. Hardware is 304 or 316 stainless steel; zipper and snaps are all high strength plastic for corrosion resistance. Harness incorporates a quick-release mechanism that allows the swimmer to easily release a safety line should the need arise. A quick pull on the beaded release lanyard opens the stainless steel snap shackle, thereby releasing the safety line ring.
Donning is quick and easy due to the front zippered design and the use of LSC's Quick Release Safety Buckle. Waist adjustment (30" to 48") is accomplished with two front located stainless steel adjustors. Flotation cell is encased entirely in a heavy weight, puncture and abrasion resistant nylon case. Due to its encased design, the cell requires no repacking after use; simply deflate. Vest can be inflated manually with CO2 or orally with air, and provides up to 35 lbs. of buoyancy. Includes SOLAS grade retroreflective panels, two equipment pockets (5½" x 4" x 1½") on the front and a #358 Survival Knife. Utilizes a 33 gram CO2 cylinder (#484), included. Approved for US Coast Guard Surface Swimmers.
